Job Description

Events Manager Roka - Japanese Steakhouse Overview Roka Akor is seeking an experienced, polished, and highly organized Events Manager to oversee private dining and special events across our San Francisco location. This role is responsible for driving event sales, managing client relationships, and ensuring seamless execution from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up. The Events Manager will work closely with the operations, culinary, and beverage teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences that reflect Roka Akor's refined and contemporary Japanese dining philosophy. Serving as the primary liaison between clients and restaurant leadership, this role ensures every event is executed with precision, professionalism, and hospitality excellence. Responsibilities Oversee all private dining and event programming Serve as the primary point of contact for event inquiries, site tours, proposals, and contract negotiations Manage event bookings and client communications through Tripleseat, ensuring accurate documentation and follow-through Coordinate reservations and event-related dining logistics using OpenTable in alignment with restaurant capacity Develop customized event proposals, menus, and floorplans in collaboration with culinary and operations teams Partner closely with General Managers and service leaders to ensure flawless event execution Lead event walkthroughs and pre-event meetings to align all departments on logistics and expectations Monitor event pacing, staffing needs, and service standards during live events Track event revenue performance, forecasting, and reporting for leadership review Cultivate relationships with corporate clients, concierge partners, event planners, and local San Francisco businesses Support marketing initiatives to promote private dining and special event offerings Ensure all contracts, deposits, billing, and final payments are processed accurately and timely Uphold brand standards, service protocols, and operational procedures Maintain a calm, confident, and solutions-oriented approach during high-volume or complex events Support restaurant floor operations and assist service teams as business needs require Training & Leadership Requirements Advanced proficiency in Tripleseat (event management, reporting, and client communication) Working knowledge of OpenTable reservation systems and restaurant pacing management Understanding of private dining sales strategy, contract structuring, and revenue optimization Completion of company brand and service standards training Qualifications Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in event sales or private dining management within a fine-dining, luxury hospitality, or upscale restaurant environment Proven track record of driving event revenue and managing multiple venues or accounts Strong knowledge of the San Francisco corporate and social event market Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously across different locations Strong collaboration skills and experience working closely with restaurant operations teams Professional presence with polished client-facing demeanor Ability to work evenings and weekends based on event schedule Why Join Roka At Roka Akor, the Events Manager plays a vital role in delivering memorable private dining and special event experiences that reflect our brand's precision, elegance, and hospitality excellence.
