Job Summary:

The Community College of Aurora (CCA) is looking for a motivated and dependable student to join the Mailroom and Events Department as a Work Study. In this role, you'll get hands-on experience with mailroom operations, event setup, and administrative support, helping keep everything running smoothly on campus. You'll also work closely with the Materials Handler II in the Facilities Department, learning the ropes from the team that keeps the college ticking. It's a great way to build practical skills, contribute to campus events, and be a key part of the CCA community!

Duties & Responsibilities:

Scan and Archive Paperwork:

Help organize and digitize documents for record-keeping, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Deliver Boxes and Packages:

Assist with timely and secure delivery of items across campus, especially during busy periods.

Support Event Setup:

Help arrange furniture, decorations, and equipment for events under the guidance of senior staff.

Cover Mailroom & Events:

Step in to manage the mailroom or assist with event setup when senior staff are unavailable, keeping operations running smoothly.

Answer Phones & Receive Packages:

Take calls and accept deliveries in the receiving area during staff absences, contributing to efficient department operations.

Communicate as needed with other departments and occasional vendors to ensure smooth operations and event support.

Minimum Qualifications:

Enrollment:

Must be currently enrolled as a student at the Community College of Aurora.

Reliability:

Demonstrated dependability, punctuality, and responsibility in work or academic settings.

Communication Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally with colleagues, faculty, and students.

Detail:

Meticulous in handling documents, packages, and event setups.

Initiative:

Proactive in assisting with tasks and problem-solving while respecting the scope of assigned responsibilities.

Time Management:

Able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.

Team Player:

Works collaboratively with colleagues to achieve departmental goals.

Physical Stamina:

Capable of lifting and carrying boxes and equipment as needed. Work-Study Eligibility Requirements This position is available exclusively to CCA students who are eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study program. Eligibility Requirements:

Must have a completed FAFSA on file Must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours Must not have already earned a first bachelor's degree Must be pursuing an eligible program of study

Selection Process:

All submitted applications will undergo an initial review to verify work-study eligibility. Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will have their applications forwarded to the hiring manager for consideration. The hiring manager will contact selected candidates to schedule an interview. Applicants who do not meet work-study eligibility requirements will not be advanced in the selection process. Questions regarding work-study eligibility should be directed to the Financial Aid Office.
