Job Description
Event Director Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce Role Overview The Event Director plays a key role in bringing the Chamber's mission to life through thoughtful, engaging, and well-executed events. This position leads the planning and production of the Chamber's flagship programs, spanning community-wide festivals, business awards and recognition events, golf tournament experiences, and educational initiatives, while supporting ongoing networking programs and overseeing the operational and financial details that ensure each experience is seamless and impactful. This role blends logistics, relationship management, and creativity, ensuring every event reflects the Chamber's commitment to connection, advocacy, and advancement within the Longmont community.
Core Responsibilities Lead Event Presence & Execution:
Attend and support all Chamber events, serving as an on-site lead to ensure a high-quality and welcoming experience.Plan & Produce Premier Events:
Own the planning and execution of the Chamber's signature events from concept through completion, including timelines, logistics, vendor coordination, and run of show.Manage Venues & Vendor Relationships:
Source, evaluate, and secure venues; obtain and negotiate quotes; coordinate with vendors to ensure alignment with event goals and expectations.Oversee Event Budgets:
Develop and manage event budgets, track expenses, and make strategic decisions to balance cost efficiency with experience quality.Support Recurring Networking Programs :
Collaborate with the team to organize and execute monthly events such as Business Before Hours and Business After Hours.Manage Sponsor Relationships & Fundraising Efforts :
Cultivate and maintain sponsor partnerships, ensuring strong communication, fulfillment of benefits, and alignment with fundraising goals. Serve as Staff Liaison forCommittees :
Support member committees as needed, helping guide engagement and communication between members and the Chamber.Recruit, Train & Oversee Volunteers :
Build and manage volunteer teams for major events, ensuring clear roles, strong communication, and a positive experience.Coordinate Event Communications :
Partner with internal teams to support marketing, registration, and attendee communicationEnhance Attendee Experience & Accessibility:
Continuously evaluate and improve event flow, accessibility, and overall guest experience. Skills and Qualifications Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills Computer literacy and efficiencies (Including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Airtable and Canva) Self-motivated, energetic Detail-oriented Strong project management skills Ability to coordinate multiple programs/priorities and deadlines Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders Self-directed, adaptable and accountable Three to five years of experience in event managementThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications associated with this position.Pay:
