In this role, the Special Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, managing and evaluating the annual fundraising initiatives for EPIC including oversight of signature and community events to ensure quality and financial success. This position will lead the effort to identify, cultivate, solicit and acknowledge donors and sponsors; deepen engagement of current donors, board members, funding partners and the community at large. The EPIC Events Coordinator also acts as an ambassador and liaison in the LGBTQ+ community. What You'll Do Partner with the President to plan and execute fundraising events Develop and manage an annual events strategy and expansion plans Build relationships with community partners and lead outreach initiatives Cultivate donors and sponsorships, including within the LGBTQ+ community Recruit, train, and manage event volunteers Oversee event performance, compliance, and reporting Maintain records in Virtuous and track volunteer activity Collaborate across teams and support public relations efforts Why Join Empath Health?

Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of HIV Services and support systems preferred. Ability to work nights and weekends. This role requires travel for a week-long annual event, with additional travel as needed for event preparation. Special events experience preferred, preferably 2 or more years with management level experience. Experience in supervision of volunteers preferred. Administrative/organizational and computer skills. Virtuous experience preferred. Experience in a team atmosphere. Must have reliable transportation which will enable them to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion. Must be able to provide proof of automobile insurance, a copy of which will be placed in their employee file. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
