The Historic Valley Junction Foundation, a 501(c)(3) Main Street organization, is looking for a reliable and motivated Event Support Staff Member to help keep our signature events running smoothly and looking their best. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, being part of a lively atmosphere, and contributing to memorable community experiences like the Valley Junction Farmers Market and Music in the Junction. What You'll Do Keep event spaces clean, safe, and welcoming for guests Empty trash and recycling throughout the event and replace liners Sweep streets and sidewalks and pick up litter as needed Sort and bag recyclable materials Assist with light event setup and teardown alongside the event team What to Expect Outdoor work from May through September Shifts typically run 7-8 hours, starting in the afternoon and ending in the evening A fast-paced, active environment with a supportive team What We're Looking For Dependable and self-motivated Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Able to stay active (walking, lifting, bending) throughout shifts Team player with a positive attitude Qualifications No experience required - we'll train the right person Previous event or maintenance experience is a plus High school diploma or equivalent preferred Compensation & Employment Type This is a 1099 independent contractor position Contractors are paid hourly per event at the end of each event Scheduling based on event calendar Contractors are responsible for their own taxes We are an inclusive employer.
