Event Planner/Coordinator Chicago, IL Job Details Part-time | Contract $16.50 - $20.00 an hour 17 hours ago Qualifications Hospitality Sourcing Multitasking Event coordination Event planning Research Attention to detail Organizational skills Communication skills Entry level Layout design Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Event Planner/Coordinator to support the creation of impactful wellness seminars and community experiences. In this role, you will assist in the planning, organization, and execution of events that educate, inspire, and bring people together. Your ability to stay organized, anticipate needs, and contribute to a smooth event experience will be key. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both behind-the-scenes coordination and hands-on event support, helping ensure each event runs seamlessly and leaves a lasting impression.
Duties Primary Responsibility:
Venue Sourcing & Coordination Research and identify three strong venue options for each event (Northeast, Northwest, and Southwest areas) Provide exact location details, availability, capacity, and key logistics for each option Communicate with venues to gather necessary information and assist with coordination Ensure all venue options align with the event needs, accessibility, and overall experience
Secondary Responsibilities:
Event Support Assist with basic event planning details such as timelines and preparation needs Assist with event setup and breakdown alongside the team Help prepare event materials, layout, and overall presentation Provide a professional weekly introduction for Dr. Kina Support event flow and help maintain a welcoming, organized environment for attendees Assist with post-event wrap-up and organization Provide exact location details, availability, capacity, and key logistics for each option Communicate with venues to gather necessary information and assist with coordination Ensure all venue options align with the event needs, accessibility, and overall experience Experience Previous experience in event planning, coordination, or hospitality is preferred Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently Comfortable working in a fast-paced, in-person event environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to take direction while being proactive and solution-oriented Detail-oriented with a strong sense of professionalism Schedule & Compensation Part-time, hourly position Hours will vary based on event schedule and planning needs Ideal Candidate This role is perfect for someone who is reliable, proactive, and enjoys being part of creating meaningful experiences. You are someone who can step in, support where needed, and help bring events together with care and attention to detail.
Pay:
$16.50 - $20.00 per hour
