Job Description

Coppin State is in need of an Event Coordinator to start ASAP until 10/01/26. Could be extended. Position is contractual. Schedule is M-F 9AM
  • 5PM, Flexible on weekends and after hours for events and O/T as needed.
Paid Weekly on
Fridays Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with clients to understand their event requirements and preferences
  • Select and book suitable venues, vendors, and suppliers for each event
  • Manage event budgets and ensure all expenses are within the allocated budget
  • Create event timelines and schedules to ensure smooth execution
  • Coordinate with catering teams to plan menus and food service for events
  • Oversee event setup, including decor, seating arrangements, audiovisual equipment, and signage
  • Manage guest registration and provide excellent customer service throughout the event
  • Handle any issues or emergencies that may arise during events
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to promote events and attract attendees
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in event planning or hospitality industry preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, vendors, and team members
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality events
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficient in using event management software or tools
  • Knowledge of local venues, caterers, and suppliers is a plus
