Working collaboratively with the Director of Advancement and the Development team, the position supports the achievement of organizational fundraising goals through the execution of event logistics for fundraising and community events, and donation drives.
Principal Responsibilities:
Volunteer Services Coordinate and implement tasks to meet goals and objectives for the volunteer program, which reflect the mission of ECH. Regularly assess the agency's volunteer needs to enhance program and service delivery. Follow agency volunteer policies and procedures to reflect the agency's values. Administer volunteer documentation to ensure compliance with licensing and accreditation standards in coordination with Human Resources. Identify, recruit and select individual and group volunteers with skills that fit the agency's needs. Coach staff to work effectively and cooperatively with volunteers. Provide volunteer training, guidance, evaluation and recognition for individual and group volunteers. Recruit and manage event volunteers. Keep accurate volunteer records, including all agency-required documentation, time-keeping, communication and evaluation. Event Coordination Coordinate and implement fundraising event logistics. Assist Development team in securing auction items and other event in-kind donations. Coordinate logistics of community events such as back-to-school and other community-based fairs, and in-kind donation drives, including the ECH Christmas Campaign. Additional Responsibilities In collaboration with Director of Advancement, implement community donation drives (ie. Christmas store, in-kind gift drives, Christmas gifts, etc.). Manage Hope Chest store operation to ensure it effectively serves ECH clients and staff. Responsible for being trauma aware, sensitive and responsive to youth, families and colleagues through the completion of new hire and annual trauma informed education/training. Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree preferred One or more years experience working with volunteers, community or events Ability to embrace the mission and values of the agency and put them into practice Knowledge of volunteer management principles and practices Strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, staff, donors and community Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing Proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office 365 programs, social media applications and internet; Blackbaud or other CRM experience preferred Ability to conduct oneself in a calm and professional manner when working with all internal and external constituents, even in difficult situations Willingness to adjust hours to accommodate the needs of the position Strong organization, planning and record-keeping skills Ability to effectively manage a wide array of tasks, projects, and responsibilities simultaneously Meet physical demands of occasionally lifting and moving items, including equipment and supplies needed for events and material donations received, climbing stairs on a regular basis Have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel around the region for meetings and donation pick-ups when requested.
