Event Assistant (White Deer Park Splashpad) Town of Garner - 4.7 Garner, NC Job Details Seasonal $15.37 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Outdoor work Customer inquiry handling Guest services Full Job Description The Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Department is seeking responsible, energetic, and motivated individuals to support operations at the White Deer Park Splashpad. Selected candidates will provide on-site support during daytime operations, including maintaining the cleanliness of the splashpad and surrounding east-side facilities (shelters, restrooms, changing rooms, and meadow), assisting with patron questions and/or concerns, and helping monitor general activity levels. This role also includes tracking daily attendance and supporting a welcoming, safe, and well-maintained environment for all visitors. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in summer conditions and enjoy engaging with the community.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Support the cleanliness and overall upkeep of the splashpad and surrounding east-side facilities, including shelters, restrooms, changing rooms, and meadow areas. Monitor site conditions throughout the day and restock supplies as needed to support a safe and well-maintained environment. Provide a visible staff presence and help ensure compliance with Town policies and procedures. Assist patrons with questions, concerns, or general support in a friendly and professional manner. Maintain awareness of activity levels and assist with basic attendance tracking as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must: Be at least 18 years of age and comfortable working independently and occasionally alone. Be comfortable working outdoors in summer conditions for extended periods. Have strong customer service skills with the ability to interact effectively with patrons and staff. Be able to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, including Saturday and/or Sunday. Be currently certified in CPR/First Aid or have the ability to obtain certification within 1 month of hire (training will be provided). Preference will be given to applicants who possess a high school diploma (or equivalent)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Splashpad operating hours are 7 days a week, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Memorial Day through Labor Day. We strive to offer a flexible work schedule. This position is open until filled and may close at any time. Equal Opportunity Employer
