Open Until Filled The Science Fair Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and overseeing a one-day science fair event for 5th-grade students. The coordinator will ensure the event is engaging, educational, and smoothly executed by managing logistics, communication, partnerships, and transportation. This position requires collaboration with school staff, community partners, and parents to provide an enriching experience for all participants. Primary Responsibilities Event Coordination Plan and organize all aspects of the science fair day, including scheduling, venue setup, and materials needed for student projects and activities. Develop a timeline and checklist to ensure all event components are completed on schedule. Coordinate event-day operations, including managing volunteers and ensuring smooth transitions between activities. Communication Serve as the primary point of contact for the science fair, communicating details and updates to staff, students, parents, and community partners. Provide clear instructions and resources to teachers and students for preparing their projects. Draft and distribute promotional materials, event invitations, and schedules. Community and Partner Engagement Identify and recruit community partners, such as local businesses, organizations, and STEM professionals, to support the event through sponsorship, judging, or hosting activities. Coordinate with guest speakers, judges, and workshop leaders to participate in the event. Bussing and Transportation Organize and coordinate transportation for students to and from the event venue, ensuring proper scheduling and safety procedures. Communicate bussing schedules and guidelines to staff, students, and parents. Logistics and Documentation Prepare and organize event materials, including name tags, project display areas, and participant lists. Develop a system to evaluate and provide feedback on student projects, such as rubrics or judge scorecards. Maintain records of event logistics, community partner involvement, and participant feedback for future planning. Other Duties as Assigned Assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving during the event. Provide a post-event report summarizing successes, challenges, and recommendations for future science fairs. Qualifications Current elementary teaching certification and experience in organizing events or programs preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, parents, and community partners. Commitment to fostering a love of science and inquiry among students. Time Commitment and Compensation This is an extra-duty assignment that requires availability for pre-event planning meetings, communication tasks, and event-day coordination.Stipend level:
