Event Captain

Job Overview We are on the lookout for an energetic and detail-oriented Event Captain to lead our Artisan Events and Catering team. This position will ensure every occasion runs smoothly from start to finish. In this role, you'll be the go-to person for coordinating event logistics, managing staff, and delivering top-notch guest experiences. Duties Oversee the planning and execution of events, ensuring all elements align with client expectations and company standards. Coordinate with vendors, caterers, and venue staff to manage catering, setup, and breakdown processes efficiently. Lead and supervise event staff, assigning roles and ensuring high levels of customer service throughout the event. Manage event budgets, track expenses, and handle contracts with clients and suppliers to stay within financial guidelines. Upsell additional services or upgrades during events to enhance guest experience and maximize revenue opportunities. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, alcohol service, and venue safety protocols. Communicate effectively with clients before, during, and after events to address needs, resolve issues, and gather feedback for continuous improvement. Experience Previous experience in event management or hospitality is highly preferred; banquet or hotel experience is a plus. Strong skills in negotiation, contract management, and upselling techniques. Knowledge of event marketing strategies to promote upcoming events or special occasions. Familiarity with catering operations, restaurant service standards, or banquet setup is beneficial. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively under pressure. Proven customer service skills with a friendly approach that makes guests feel valued and cared for. Experience in budgeting, event planning software, or hospitality management systems will give you an edge.
