Position Summary:
Our Private Events team is expanding! We are looking for an experienced, hard-working individual to join our team full-time. This role will involve sales, working directly with clients to give them the best experience possible throughout the event planning process, as well as executing events to the high standard that our team has put in place.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work in collaboration with the entire Private Events team to coordinate and execute events ranging from weddings to corporate meetings, and everything in between. Maintain positive and ongoing relationships with clients and vendors, especially by replying to all forms of communication in a timely manner and executing a variety of administrative tasks. Booking, detailing and carrying out events from start to finish. Guide clients through their event planning, the event process and the event execution. Oversee bar staff during events to ensure proper performance. Support departmental growth through sales, attending networking events throughout the community and hospitality industry. Take initiative and work with other team members when it comes to research and development of new event concepts and trends as they relate to the overall goals of the department and company. Stay up to date with the Rhinegeist culture and new directions the company is taking with brands, beer, products, etc.
Physical Requirements:
Lift anywhere between 5 lbs - 50+ lbs multiple times per day - using carts/dollies to transport from space to space Kegs Cases of wine, liquor, soda, beer, etc Tables Chairs Linen bags Trash/recycling Glassware/cases Vendor load in/load out Bending, squatting, reaching Sitting in an office setting for 1-2 hrs/week Standing/Walking for 8 hours with scattered opportunities to sit Climbing multiple flights of stairs several times a day to different event spaces
Requirements:
3 years of hospitality experience in event coordination or similar position desired. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication (both verbal and written) and exceptional customer service skills required. Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure while dealing with multiple deadlines. Must be great at multitasking, extremely detail oriented, possess the ability to stay organized and manage your time well.
