Job Description
Position Summary The Fairgrounds Office Assistant provides temporary administrative and event support to the Fairgrounds Manager during the busy fair and event season. This position helps ensure daily office operations, event coordination, customer service, and fair preparations run smoothly. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent public interaction. Responsibilities Assist the Fairgrounds Manager with daily office operations Answer phones, respond to emails, and assist visitors and vendors Help coordinate schedules, event paperwork, and facility reservations Maintain files, records, and event documentation Assist with fair preparation, setup coordination, and event logistics Process payments, registrations, and basic data entry as needed Communicate professionally with vendors, exhibitors, contractors, and the public Provide general administrative support during fairs and special events Assist with other duties as assigned to support fairgrounds operations Qualifications Previous office, customer service, or administrative experience preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Proficient with basic computer programs including Microsoft Office and email Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment Professional and friendly attitude with strong customer service skills Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends during events and fair week High school diploma or equivalent preferred Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the fairgrounds as needed Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds Position Details Temporary/Seasonal Position Part-time or Full-time depending on event schedule Salary Starting at $19.20 per hour #INDMadras
