Patrolling Security Full Job Description Event Dates:
June 1-June 16, 2026 Position Overview Security Event Staff will support the Three Rivers Festival by providing a strong, professional security presence across multiple event zones. Team members will help maintain a safe, enjoyable environment for attendees, vendors, and festival partners. This role requires excellent situational awareness, strong communication skills, and the ability to stand or walk for extended periods in a fast‑paced outdoor setting. Key Responsibilities Conduct standing post assignments at designated entry points, walkways, vendor areas, and festival zones. Perform roving patrols to identify safety concerns, suspicious activity, or unauthorized access. Execute bag checks and screening procedures in accordance with festival security protocols. Monitor and secure all gates and restricted areas , ensuring proper access control. Provide crowd management support, including line control, guest guidance, and de‑escalation when needed. Respond to incidents professionally and escalate issues to supervisors or law enforcement as appropriate. Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a firm, safety‑focused posture. Support pre‑event setup and post‑event breakdown as assigned. Qualifications Prior event security, customer service, or public‑facing experience preferred. Ability to stand and walk for long periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable demeanor. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work assigned festival dates. Ability to follow instructions, maintain situational awareness, and work effectively in a team environment. Must pass any required background checks or event‑specific screening. Schedule & Work Environment Shifts will vary across morning, afternoon, and evening hours. Work will take place across multiple festival locations in downtown Pittsburgh. Staff should expect large crowds, high‑energy environments, and extended periods on foot. Compensation $17 per hour , based on experience and assignment. Additional hours may be available for setup and breakdown.
