The Event Planner will report to the Director of Sales and Marketing and assist the entire Sales Department in delivering comprehensive and cohesive quality experience for all clients of the Inn at Villanova University. Planning, administering and executing events related to but not limited to corporate events, social events and Villanova events. Inspect and maintain events as per the agreement with the group requirement and company standards to resolve problems. Creatively, this individual is proactive in developing event protocol and translating business strategies and relationships into appropriate stewardship of all clients. This individual mist effectively interface with a myriad of internal and external constituents. Villanova is a Catholic university sponsored by the Augustinian Order. Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for planning and executing details of events which include but are not limited to: menu, décor, collateral materials, gifts, accommodations, transportation, etc. to ensure consistency, quality, cost effectiveness, and success. This individual will also attend events as needed. This will include evening and weekend events as needed. Maintain records for Catering orders, budgets, and room block information for assigned events. Provides updates to internal and external constituents in a timely fashion. Perform other duties and assist with projects as assigned. Training and empowering sales team members to exercise good judgement to make profitable business decisions. Communicate all appropriate information to team leaders and managers via the established communication standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Formal Education Bachelor's Degree or two years of equivalent experience in a related field. Work Experience Minimum of three (3) years experience in event management. Work Skills (e.g., written and verbal communication skills) Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal, listening and writing). Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in deadline sensitive environment. Highly detail-oriented. Strong time management skills. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to deal with complex customer requests. Positive outlook and attitude. Must be innovative, pro-active and reliable. Specific Job Knowledge (e.g., knowledge of principles and procedures related to field and area) Strong knowledge of event planning and relationship management required. Equipment Knowledge PC Hardware and software packages, S&C software, PMS software.

Salary Posting Information:
This position falls within salaried grade 14 and the range is $57,200-71,500. The final salary will be determined with consideration of several factors including the selected candidate's qualifications, department budget availability, market data, and internal equity.
