$35/hour + materials stipend

Hours:

Varies by event, approximately 3-9 hours per week depending on workshop schedule Schedule Flexible weekday hours, some weekends. Hours may include paid prep time, in-person planning meetings, supply organization, setup, teaching time, cleanup, and retreat/event support Workshops are scheduled ahead of time, and most workshops are usually scheduled on Saturdays and/or Sundays from 11am - 2pm. Some weekday mornings/afternoons as needed for pre-scheduled in-person planning meetings About Us We are a creative, community-driven organization dedicated to bringing adults together through beginner-friendly arts and crafts. Our workshops are designed to help people relax, learn something new, meet others, and feel more creative and connected. We are looking for creative, reliable, and self-sufficient DIY workshop instructors who can lead beginner-friendly adult craft classes from start to finish! Responsibilities Workshop Teaching + Class Management Lead beginner-friendly adult arts and crafts workshops based on the craft project selected by the organizer Take time to learn and prepare the selected craft project in advance so you can lead the workshop smoothly and confidently Prepare for the workshop by understanding the steps, materials, and flow of the class Teach each step clearly & patiently Manage the flow of the class from start to finish Keep the class on schedule and help participants complete their projects Create a warm, welcoming, and encouraging environment for adults of all skill levels Support participants during the workshop and answer class-related questions Handle setup, supply layout, cleanup, and packing up after the workshop Capture simple photos or short videos during the workshop when appropriate I will be there to support and help you in the beginning, so you don't have to do the first few by yourself (unless you choose to!) Occasional paid prep sessions to review workshop schedule, practice selected crafts, go over materials, and prepare for upcoming classes Supplies + Materials A materials stipend will be provided for each workshop The instructor is responsible for purchasing materials within the stipend amount The instructor is responsible for purchasing, organizing, transporting, setting up, and cleaning up workshop supplies Bring and organize supplies for the workshop Set up materials before class begins Clean up and pack up supplies after the workshop, being sure to leaving the space the same way it was left for us Requirements Experience teaching, leading, or hosting workshops, classes, events, or group activities Comfortable teaching adult beginners Able to explain craft steps clearly and patiently Reliable, organized, proactive, and self-sufficient Comfortable managing a group (12-20 people) during a creative workshop Able to learn and prepare selected craft projects independently before class Strong communication skills Warm, friendly, and comfortable creating a welcoming environment Comfortable lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs for setup and breakdown Must have reliable transportation Must be comfortable transporting workshop supplies when needed Must be based in or near Orange County Must be able to commute to Costa Mesa and nearby Orange County event locations Must have some weekend availability (will be scheduled in advance) Nice to Have Experience teaching arts and crafts, DIY projects, wellness workshops, retreats, or women-centered events Experience sourcing craft supplies within a budget Experience selling handmade goods, hosting creative events, or running your own creative business Ability to suggest beginner-friendly craft ideas for future workshops Contractor Details This is an independent contractor role for about 2-3 workshops / events per month. Workshop dates will be scheduled along with you so they work for your schedule as well.

You may also use approved photos from workshops for your own teaching portfolio or creative business, as long as attendee privacy is respected. Location Workshops and in-person planning meetings to take place in Costa Mesa and surrounding Orange County areas

$35.00 per hour Expected hours: 3.0 - 10.0 per week
