$60.00-$75.00/hour About IPMA The Information Professional Management Association (IPMA) is a nonprofit (501(c)(6)) organization that has supported the professional growth of Washington's public-sector IT community for more than 60 years. The IPMA financially partners with various IT organizations (termed "Sponsors") to deliver leadership development, training, and networking opportunities that strengthen public service through technology to state, county, and local government. IPMA is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors composed of public-sector technology leaders and supported by a small team of contracted professionals. Position Overview IPMA is seeking a part-time contractor to act in the role of IPMA Coordinator; to serve as the organization's primary relationship manager and operational point of contact on behalf of the organization. This role ensures strong engagement with IPMA Sponsors while coordinating closely with the Board of Directors and the Events Coordinator to support successful programs and organizational operations. This is a contract position suited for a self-directed professional who enjoys relationship management, light operational oversight, and working with a mission-driven, volunteer-led organization. Why This Role Matters IPMA operates through collaboration and professional goodwill. This position plays a central role in sustaining the coordination and partnerships between Sponsors and public-sector that make IPMA programs possible. Key Responsibilities Sponsor Engagement & Recruitment Serve as the primary liaison and represent the IPMA brand to IPMA Sponsors, Board of Directors, and public-sector partners. Recruit, onboard, solicit and track Sponsor membership fees, and maintain Sponsor relationships. Track participation, renewals, and communications with Sponsors. Coordinate Sponsor-related events and engagement opportunities. Operational Coordination Act as IPMA's day-to-day business contact. Coordinate with the Events Coordinator to align event delivery and Sponsor contract. Provide basic support and coordination for procured services, facilities, software licensing, software administration, and vendor contracts; including but not limited to vendor interactions, website updates, digital file maintenance, PO Box management, and IPMA property storage maintenance. Monitor activities against event budgets in partnership with IPMA's contracted accounting services, the Events Coordinator, and Board Treasurer. Board & Committee Support Provide support at monthly board meetings, committee meetings (typically 3-5 each week), and in person events (typically 10-12 per year) Provide status updates on Sponsor and operational activities. Assist with communications and organizational coordination across all Board committees. Strategic & Continuous Improvement Help implement process improvements that keep IPMA running smoothly. Support strategic initiatives identified by the Board of Directors. Desired Experience IPMA is seeking someone who brings: Experience managing professional relationships, partnerships, or sponsorships. Experience overseeing invoicing, payment processing, and sponsorship fee collection activities. Strong organizational and follow-through skills in a largely self-managed environment. Comfort working with senior leaders, public-sector professionals, and private-sector partners. Ability to coordinate multiple activities without a large support structure. Clear, professional communication and sound judgment. Experience working with government, associations, or nonprofit organizations is highly valued. Work Environment Remote, flexible schedule In-person attendance at IPMA events Some in-state travel required; travel reimbursements are based on current Washington State Office of Financial Management rates for use of a personally owned vehicle (POV) and per diem for meals, incidentals, and lodging (when not included with event registration).
