The Manager of Donor Event Experiences leads donor engagement, stewardship, and partner experience initiatives that advance The Henry Ford's philanthropic priorities and foster lasting relationships with donors and partners. Reporting to the Senior Director of Institutional Advancement, this role is responsible for creating meaningful engagement opportunities, delivering donor society benefits and stewardship commitments with consistency and excellence, and providing strategic and operational support to the Senior Advisor for Special Initiatives on major events and other high-profile engagement opportunities. The Manager plans, coordinates, and executes donor and partner engagement activities, including virtual and in-person experiences, and oversees donor society programs, stewardship initiatives, sponsor and partner engagement efforts, project timelines, budgets as needed, communications, and cross-functional collaboration. Working closely with colleagues across the institution, this position helps strengthen donor retention, deepen partner engagement, and support contributed revenue growth.
Essential Responsibilities:
Donor Engagement & Stewardship Coordinate donor and partner experiences across institutional teams including Events, Guest Services, Hospitality, Security, Creative Services, Technology, and other departments Manage project timelines, planning activities, and workflow processes to support successful execution Manage engagement-related budgets and resources to support donor and partner experiences while ensuring activities remain within approved budget parameters Manage and coordinate Advancement team requests through Workfront, ensuring projects are appropriately scoped, prioritized, and delivered within established timelines and branding standards Prepare and coordinate donor profiles, biographies, briefing documents, timelines, and leadership materials to support donor meetings and engagement activities Partner & Sponsor Engagement Partner with Corporate Partnerships to coordinate sponsor activations, partner events, and customized experiences aligned with partnership agreements and organizational objectives Support relationship-building efforts for prospective and existing sponsors and partners Ensure partner experiences and sponsorship commitments are delivered effectively and consistently Provide functional guidance and coordination for individuals supporting donor and partner engagement activities, as applicable Donor Operations Utilize donor and engagement systems including CRM databases, RSVP tracking tools, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and related technology platforms to support planning, communications, and reporting activities Track donor participation, stewardship fulfillment, and engagement outcomes for donor societies and programs Oversee Advancement team requests through Workfront and guide development of donor and leadership materials including donor profiles, biographies, briefing documents, timelines, and event materials Monitor donor benefit fulfillment and engagement commitments to ensure timely and consistent delivery Maintain participation and engagement data and prepare reports supporting Advancement priorities and decision-making Contribute to annual planning efforts and identify opportunities to improve engagement processes and operational effectiveness Support donor communications, engagement initiatives, special projects, and perform other duties as assigned May occasionally move or transport event materials, supplies, or equipment associated with donor and engagement activities
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality, Event Management, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered 3 or more years of experience in donor relations, fundraising, development, special events, stewardship, nonprofit engagement, or related experience preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and related technology platforms Experience planning and executing in-person and virtual events, donor experiences, or engagement activities Experience managing multiple projects, timelines, and priorities simultaneously Experience working with donor databases, CRM systems, or engagement management systems preferred

Ability to maintain confidential information and exercise sound judgment with sensitive donor and institutional information Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to effectively engage internal and external stakeholders Strong planning, project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities while balancing long-term objectives and operational details Strong verbal, written, proofreading, and presentation skills Ability to exercise professionalism, diplomacy, discretion, and sound judgment Demonstrated financial and budget management skills with the ability to effectively manage project and event-related budgets Familiarity with donor management systems, preferably Blackbaud Raiser's Edge, RSVP platforms, and project management tools such as Workfront Ability to travel between campus locations and event venues as needed Commitment to ethical fundraising practices and stewardship principles Models The Henry Ford Core Values of Welcoming, Curious, Authentic, and Passionate through professional and collaborative interactions

Operates in a hybrid work environment with a combination of on-site and off-site work Work is performed in office, museum, event, and donor engagement settings with varying activity levels and environments Work hours may vary and may include occasional evenings, weekends, and special events based on organizational and donor engagement needs
