Job Description

5 STAR Event Services is hiring energetic, reliable, and safety‑minded individuals to join our team for the upcoming American Clean Power Association Conference at the George R. Brown Convention Center starting May 27th, 2026, through June 6th, 2026 . This is a permanent PART‑TIME , hourly position with opportunities to work additional sports, entertainment, and music events throughout the year. Description:
Event Staff and Security Officers are responsible for the safety and comfort of all clients, guests and other employees.
Pay Range:
$15 and up/per hour Primary Responsibilities Access Control — Monitor and manage entry/exit points for designated areas Guest Screening — Conduct routine bag checks, ticket/credential verification, and prohibited‑item screening Guest Services — Greet attendees, provide directions, and assist with seating and venue navigation Crowd Flow — Maintain clear walkways and ensure smooth movement of guests and vehicles Incident Response — Receive and address guest concerns in accordance with company policies Policy Enforcement — Uphold venue rules and report suspicious behavior or activity Emergency Support — Assist with orderly evacuations and provide security escorts as needed
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee must also possess the following qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalent At least 18 years of age Reliable forms of communication and transportation
LEVEL 2 SECURITY LICENSE
(Level II Training & Exam provided for free. All applicants are required to apply, pass exam, submit to fingerprinting, and criminal background check.)
Skills and Abilities:
A strong customer-service attitude and professional appearance Possess excellent written and oral communication skills The ability to understand and interpret credentials, documents, signs, rules, policies, and instructions The ability to communicate effectively with clients, patrons and other employees The ability to multi-task, cross-train and learn new skills quickly The ability to remain calm and level-headed under high-pressure situations
Physical Requirements:
Full physical and mental dexterity with the ability to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, hear, see and speak English clearly The ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time (shift duration) The ability to lift 25lbs.
Work Environment:
Elevated noise levels. Athletic and musical events can be very loud, and employees must be prepared to be exposed to increased noise levels. Ear plugs are available upon request. An energetic and fast-paced environment Crowds (as in lots of people) Working outdoor venues. Some of the events we work take place outside or in open-air venues and take place rain or shine. Reasonable accommodations are made to assist with employee comfort when necessary (tents, rain ponchos, drinking water, etc.) Evening and weekend work schedules. Many events take place in the evenings and on the weekends. Flexible availability is required.
