Job Description

The Kahlert Applied AI Institute is growing! We're a collaborative, hardworking team of top performers producing high quality work to serve all UVU faculty, students, and staff as well as the Utah community. We are leading the state of Utah in AI. If you have a bit of experience with generative AI, and a track record of success, and we need your help. This position can be an internship if needed. Position Summary The purpose of this role is to create and distribute strategic communications about all AI events and resources for faculty, students, staff, and community members. •This position may be a major career opportunity for anyone pursuing a career related to AI, event planning, event production, project management, or similar work. You will manage many of the most highly visible events and resources in Utah. You will also learn to use AI agents to maximize attendance, engagement, and outcomes.•Example A Day in The Life Participate in a meeting where you meet with team members plan a large, multi-university, state-wide event. You design an event that will maximize attendance, engagement, and outcomes. Do a dry walk through of three different physical spaces, deciding on which one will generate the best outcomes. Check in personally (face to face and otherwise) with 5 people about rapid upcoming events, modifying the descriptions as needed. Work with your team to ensure the event is marketed and communicated to the proper audiences and all the details are available to those audiences. Show up two hours early to an evening event the Institute is sponsoring but not running. You check with the event organizer on the AV team, catering, security, speakers, name tags, etc. to identify any last-minute gaps. You meet the keynote speaker at the parking lot and walk them in, building raport along the way. Participate in an event postmortem and record lessons learned, refining your pre-event checklist, which you will put to use in your next large event next week. Collaborate with UVU's existing event planning personnel, receiving advice and delegating responsibility when appropriate. Support the creation and management of event comms strategy and execution Advise team members on smaller events that don't require your ownership Always ask: How can I improve the quality and quantity of results? Learn how to build AI agents that help you do your job. Other diverse tasks and projects as assigned. Must be a currently enrolled UVU student. Successful history of event planning/execution indicating professional level expertise.
Preferred:
You already use AI for daily tasks to generate a high volume of quality work. You believe in the power of experiences. Plan and execute flawless events, anticipating and adapting on the fly. Ability to manage event preparations, work independently, and tie up loose ends autonomously and in collaboration with teammates. You have an eagerness to learn new mindsets and skills, you are often "self-taught." You're a top achiever, driven to create successful outcomes in difficult circumstances. High emotional intelligence and ability to observe other's energy, mood, interest, etc.
