Job Description
Snuffin's Catering is seeking an organized, highly motivated, and client-focused Catering Event Planner to join our team. In this dual sales and planning role, you will act as the primary point of contact for clients hosting weddings, corporate events, and social gatherings. You will guide clients through the entire booking lifecycle: managing inbound sales inquiries, developing customized menus tailored to their vision, and coordinating logistics, including event rental equipment.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Client Management:
Respond to initial inquiries, conduct site visits, consult on event layouts, and close catering sales contracts.Menu Development:
Collaborate closely with clients and our culinary team to design custom, creative menus that meet various dietary needs and event styles.Rental Coordination:
Calculate, source, and arrange all necessary event rentals, including dishes, flatware, glassware, tables, chairs, and linens.Event Logistics:
Create detailed event timelines, structural proposals, and digital files to ensure a seamless hand-off to the event operations team.Event Supervision:
Oversee events as scheduled. Required QualificationsExperience:
Minimum of 2+ years of professional catering operations, restaurant management, or hospitality sales experience.Food Knowledge:
Strong understanding of culinary terms, food preparation, trends, and safety standards.Movement:
Ability to stand, walk, and remain mobile for long stretches (often 8 10 hours) while supervising on-site event execution.Lifting:
Must be able to safely lift, carry, and move up to 30 pounds of catering equipment, decor, or rental bins.Environment:
Comfortable working in both a climate-controlled office setting and variable outdoor/indoor event venue environments.Core Attributes:
Exceptional organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously, and a self-motivated approach to meeting sales targets.Mobility & Travel:
Must possess a valid driver s license and have access to a reliable, insured personal vehicle for venue site visits and client meetings.Flexibility:
Requires standard weekday office hours, combined with mandatory weekend and evening availability based on the booked event calendar. Hours fluctuate according to seasonal catering demands (e.g., peak summer wedding season).Compensation & Pay TransparencyBase Salary Range:
$52,000 $72,800 per yearOther Compensation:
Eligible for event gratuities distributed on worked or supervised events.Benefits ProfileHealth Insurance:
