Culinary Position Summary:
The Culinary Service Team Member is responsible for delivering an elevated, hospitality-driven experience to every guest at the deli counter. This role serves as a key point of interaction, providing knowledgeable recommendations, preparing and serving high-quality food items, and maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing counter. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, and passionate about food, wellness, and exceptional service.Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist guests in a warm, professional, and engaging manner Provide detailed menu knowledge, including ingredients, preparation methods, and dietary information (e.g., vegan, gluten-free, organic) Accurately take orders and prepare deli items to company standards Slice, portion, and package meats, cheeses, and prepared foods as requested Maintain full knowledge of daily offerings, seasonal items, and product availability Anticipate guest needs and offer thoughtful recommendations Ensure the deli counter is clean, stocked, and visually appealing at all times Follow all food safety and sanitation standards, including proper food handling and storage procedures Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service Handle guest inquiries and resolve concerns with professionalism and urgency Support inventory practices, including restocking and notifying leadership of low stockQualifications:
Previous experience in a deli, café, grocery, or hospitality environment preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-first mindset Bilingual (English/Spanish) required Professional appearance and demeanor Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Basic understanding of food safety standards and practices Passion for high-quality food, health, and wellnessPhysical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time Frequent use of hands for slicing, packaging, and serving Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs Ability to work in a refrigerated environment as neededSchedule & Availability:
Must be available to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidaysPay:
