Job Overview SB Fish Goleta is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Restaurant and Fish Counter Associates to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will be the face of our establishment, providing exceptional customer service while expertly handling food preparation, sales transactions, and seafood counter operations. Whether assisting with fresh seafood selections or managing food orders at the register, you'll play a vital role in delivering an outstanding culinary experience. Duties Greet customers warmly and assist with their seafood selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations and product information Prepare and handle fresh seafood items, ensuring proper food safety and sanitation standards are maintained Operate POS systems for retail sales transactions, cash handling, and processing customer payments accurately Manage food service customer orders efficiently, including taking orders, upselling products, and ensuring timely delivery Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including cleaning counters, equipment, and ensuring sanitation protocols are followed Operate kitchen equipment safely for food preparation tasks while adhering to food safety management practices Support in bussing tables or cleaning dining areas as needed to uphold cleanliness Cut, portion, weigh and wrap fish for retail customers Shucking oysters and local sea urchin Qualifications Previous experience in food preparation, food service, or retail sales within the food industry is highly preferred Familiarity with POS systems Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell and recommend products confidently Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Knowledge of food safety procedures, sanitation standards, and proper food handling techniques Experience working in quick service or fast-food restaurants is advantageous Basic math skills for cash register operations, retail math calculations, and handling cash transactionsJoin us at SB Fish Goleta where your passion for seafood and exceptional service will shine!
