Job Description
Do you love working with children? Do you believe learning should be fun? The Children's Resource & Referral Discovery Museum is looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and visitor-focused Discovery Navigator to help bring the museum to life every day. As one of the first friendly faces our guests meet, you'll inspire exploration, spark imagination, and help families create memories that last. What You'll Do Every day is different. As a Discovery Navigator, you will: Welcome families, school groups, and visitors with warmth and enthusiasm Bring exhibits to life by demonstrating activities and encouraging children to explore, create, and discover Keep the museum fresh and inviting by resetting activities, restocking supplies, and maintaining clean spaces Answer questions about exhibits, memberships, programs, and upcoming events Support the front desk by answering phones, checking in visitors and field trips, and assisting with registrations Help make birthday parties, family events, educational programs, and community celebrations run smoothly Help create a safe, inclusive, and joyful environment where every child feels welcome Who We're Looking For Someone who is: Friendly and outgoing, with a genuine love of working with children and families Positive, dependable, and ready to jump in wherever help is needed Comfortable multitasking in a busy, high-energy environment A team player who enjoys creating meaningful experiences for visitors Experience in education, child care, museums, or customer service is a plus, but enthusiasm and reliability matter just as much. Requirements Available to work weekends, with occasional evenings for special events Able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor museum spaces Background check and Live Scan fingerprint clearance required prior to start date Why You'll Love Working Here At the Discovery Museum, your work helps children learn through play and gives families a place to connect.
