Cohen and Wolf, P.C., a collaborative, multi-disciplinary law firm with multiple offices in Connecticut, is hiring an experienced accounting team member to be primarily responsible for its accounts payable operation as well support the Firm's overall finance and accounting function. We are seeking detail-oriented candidates who possess strong communication and organizational skills and a demonstrated commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and client service. Candidates should be able to work well independently and as part of a team, manage multiple assignments, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and learn on the job. Experience working in a multi-office law firm setting and with Surepoint is preferred. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
- Primary responsibility for the Firm's accounts payable function, including: o review and entry of vendor invoices into the accounting system, ensuring accuracy, proper approval, and account coding for each invoice; o Preparation and processing of payments via ACH, wire, and check; o Accounts payable records maintenance; and o Support year-end 1099 preparation and submission.
- Support team-wide accounting functions, including billing, banking activity and wires, bank reconciliations, positive pay, and other areas as needed and appropriate;
- Respond to inquiries for client account balances, trust reports, and other items as needed; and
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Firm.
