We're Public and General, a neighborhood pub and bistro that provides an elevated yet casual counter-service dining experience in northeast Gainesville! We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Front of House Team Member to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service in an often fast-paced environment. Your primary responsibilities will be running food, bussing tables, creating delightful cheese and charcuterie boards, keeping the restaurant and your station clean, and being a valuable support position between our kitchen, bartenders and the guests :) If you have experience in food service and enjoy working hard in a respectful and collective team, we would love to hear from you! Responsibilities Greet customers and provide insight into the set-up of our unique restaurant. Maintain knowledge of menu items and daily specials to assist customers effectively. Ensure food safety and cleanliness standards are met at all times. Collaborate with kitchen staff and FOH order takers/bartenders to ensure timely and accurate order delivery. Assist in some food preparation and assembly as needed (primarily cheese and charcuterie items, desserts and pre-prepared small plate items). Handle food safely according to established guidelines. Maintain a clean and organized front-of-house area throughout service and close down designated areas at the end of service; including dining spaces, service counters, bathrooms, etc. Address customer inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally. Experience Previous experience in a quick service fast food restaurant is very preferred. Knowledge of food safety practices and food handling regulations is essential. Experience using Toast POS or similar point-of-sale systems is a plus but not required. Culinary skills or experience in food preparation would be advantageous but not mandatory. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
