Job Overview Emilio's Italian Market is looking for an experienced Deli Counter Associate / Meat Slicer to join our team in Hyde Park Village. This position is ideal for someone with strong previous deli experience who is confident operating a commercial meat slicer and understands premium Italian meats, salumi, and cheeses. Our deli counter is an important part of the Emilio's experience, so we're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, moves efficiently during busy periods, and provides excellent customer service. A minimum of 2 years of previous deli and meat-slicing experience is required. Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate commercial deli slicers to prepare premium meats and cheeses to customer specifications
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable service to customers at the deli counter
• Understand and confidently discuss Italian meats, salumi, cheeses, and specialty products
• Take customer orders accurately and make product recommendations when appropriate
• Properly weigh, package, label, and present sliced products
• Maintain proper food handling, storage, rotation, and sanitation procedures
• Keep slicers, cutting areas, counters, tools, and the overall deli workspace clean and organized
• Properly break down, clean, and sanitize commercial slicers and deli equipment
• Restock the deli counter and help maintain an attractive, well-presented product display
• Assist with additional deli preparation and packaging as needed
• Work closely with the rest of the deli team to provide fast and efficient service during busy periods Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of professional deli/meat-slicing experience required
• Must be comfortable and experienced using a commercial deli slicer
• Knowledge of Italian cured meats, salumi, cheeses, and specialty foods strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Dependable, punctual, organized, and team-oriented
• Strong attention to detail and product presentation
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical duties associated with working behind a deli counter Compensation $16.

00 per hour + pooled tips In addition to the hourly rate, this position participates in the deli team's tip pool. Our team receives a strong amount of customer tips on a daily basis, providing additional earning potential on top of the base hourly wage. Employees are paid every Friday.
