ABOUT THE ROLE
Janie's Mill is seeking a passionate, driven, and hardworking individual to fill the position of Milling Team Member. Team Member positions are hands-on and require individuals who are accustomed to manufacturing jobs and work environments. The Milling Team Member is an on-site position, and reports directly to the Miller Lead. Janie's Mill is a farmer-owned, certified organic flour mill located in Ashkum, Illinois. We mill organic grains for home and professional bakers, chefs, and distillers across the country.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Operate machinery and equipment, including grain mills (cracked and flour), Roastech (flake grains), and HIPPO mill (flour for distillers) Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime Perform product quality control checks to ensure compliance with quality standards Empty flour tanks into 25lb and 50lb bags, ensuring labeling is accurate and compliant with food safety regulations Routinely swap out barrels, totes, bins, and boxes of grain, bran, and purge to keep production moving forward Assists with blending flours to be milled Fulfills orders, including stacking pallets and prepare for delivery Communicate with the Head Miller Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), company food safety policies, and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) Assist with periodic cleaning of common areas in facility Other duties as assigned
WHO YOU ARE
Be authorized to work in the US Must be able to lift 50lbs Forklift certification, preferred Attention to detail Able to multitask Available Monday - Friday 7am-3:30pm Flexible availability for evening and/or weekend hours
Pay:
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
