Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Healey Families Initiative seeks to close the disengagement gap among the historically marginalized families by facilitating monthly parent support groups in Portuguese, Spanish, and Haitian Creole in order to support parents to feel empowered and to advocate for their children's education. We are seeking teachers, caregivers, and community members to help support our work with Healey families. Essential Functions & Responsibilities The essential functions or responsibilities listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Manage HFI's programming: childcare, meeting agendas, funding and budget, etc. Lead bi-weekly team meetings at the Healey School or remotely Lead or surpervise monthly HFI Caregiver meetings Provide outreach to families and make referrals to the HFI Qualifications, Knowledge, Abilities, & Skills Knowledge of child development Experience working with marginalized families Ability to establish good working relationship with children, parents, and other staff Bilingual preferred Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate standard classroom tools and technology (e.g., computers, tablets, instructional materials). Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively with students, staff, and families, both verbally and in writing.
