In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers while ensuring the seafood department operates smoothly and efficiently. You will assist customers with their seafood selections, maintain product quality, and uphold cleanliness standards in the department. Duties Provide outstanding customer service by greeting and assisting customers with their seafood purchases. Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately using POS systems. Maintain product displays, ensuring that seafood items are fresh, well-stocked, and attractively presented. Communicate effectively with customers to answer questions about seafood products and provide cooking suggestions. Upsell additional products to enhance customer experience and increase sales. Perform basic math calculations for pricing and inventory management. Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean work environment. Assist in receiving deliveries and managing inventory levels in the seafood department. Utilize phone etiquette when responding to customer inquiries or taking orders. Assist team in other areas as needed. Qualifications Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers. Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory management. Familiarity with retail math concepts is a plus. Experience with cash registers and POS systems is advantageous. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. A passion for seafood and knowledge of various types of fish and shellfish is desirable but not required.
