About us Scarborough grounds is a small cafe in Scarborough, ME. We are friendly, motivated baristas dedicated to our goal to Provide customers with friendly service and great products while maintaining a fun atmosphere for staff as well!

- We are seeking friendly, upbeat and dedicated individuals to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating delicious drinks and sandwiches and providing excellent customer service while working in a fast team based environment. Hours range from 6am, 7am, 8am, or 9am-3pm. Pay range is including tips. Food and beverage is free on the clock with a 20% discount off the clock.
Duties:
- Prepare and assemble drinks and sandwiches according to customer preferences and company standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as oven, microwaves, toasters, ovens, coffee/espresso machines and dishwasher.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe
- Ensure food safety guidelines are followed at all times
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies
- Cleaning and closing up the cafe.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Point of Sale (POS) systems for order processing, specifically the Toast system is a plus!
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with customers
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and calculating change
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and safe food handling practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience in sales or upselling products to customers
- Previous experience in food service or a similar role is preferred but can be over looked for the right candidate!
