Job Description
Job Summary We're looking for a friendly and energetic Deli Clerk to join our retail team. In this role, you'll be the go-to person for preparing and serving delicious deli items, ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience. If you enjoy food preparation, providing excellent customer service, and working in a fast-paced environment, this position is perfect for you! You'll play a key part in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the deli area while helping customers find what they need with a smile. Responsibilities Prepare and slice meats, cheeses, and other deli products following safety and quality standards. Assist customers with their selections, answer questions about products, and offer recommendations to boost sales through upselling. Operate POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS to process transactions accurately and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, including food handling, sanitation, and proper storage practices. Manage inventory levels by restocking displays, rotating stock, and reporting shortages or issues promptly. Support food safety protocols by adhering to sanitation standards and proper food handling procedures. Provide quick and friendly cashiering services while ensuring accurate cash handling and math calculations. Qualifications Previous experience in food preparation or food service environments such as grocery stores, cafés, or quick service restaurants is preferred. Knowledge of POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus. Strong customer service skills with an approachable attitude. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and perform basic math calculations confidently. Familiarity with food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures. Good time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy hours. Experience with retail math, upselling techniques, and serving in a fast-food or quick-service setting is advantageous.
