Meat Clerk/Cutter

We're currently accepting applications for a part-time or full-time Meat Clerk/Cutter at our Centralia location. Qualified applicants must be hard workers, able to provide excellent customer service, work in a fast-paced environment, and a go-getter. Must be available to work some weekends. Experience is preferred, but not required.

Job Description:

A Meat Clerk is responsible for assisting customers with purchases in the meat department, along with stocking and rotating products on display. Duties may include assisting customers, stocking products, portioning meat, wrapping meat, weighing product, labeling meat, displaying products, and checking product quality. With training, this position could have the opportunity to merge into the position of a Meat Cutter - learning to cut, trim, and prepare all varieties of meat.

Primary Duties:

Provide friendly, prompt, and efficient customer service always. Stock cases and rotate product. Work with a team to ensure a pleasant work environment, and customer satisfaction. Cut, grind, tray, wrap, weigh, and label all varieties of meat - while operating tools safely. Practice proper sanitation procedures and complete required cleaning to ensure work areas and displays are kept neat and clean. Adhere to company policies and guidelines. Report to work when scheduled and on time. Job Requirement Qualifications. Must be at least 18 years of age. Experience is not required; we will train the right person! Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to be on their feet for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 85 pounds occasionally, lift up to 40 pounds frequently, and lift up to 10 pounds constantly to move product. Must be able to carefully operate equipment necessary to perform job - including but not limited to; pallet jack, wrapping system, knives, grinder, slicer, tenderizer, patty maker, etc.

Environment:

This is a fast-paced work environment. This position is continually exposed to a cool and damp environment, and there is frequent noise from the saws.
