Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Deli Clerk, where you'll be at the heart of creating a vibrant, welcoming food service environment. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving fresh deli items, maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation, and delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities Prepare and assemble deli products with precision, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met including slicing meat. Serve customers efficiently at the deli counter, providing friendly assistance and product recommendations. Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for transactions, including cash handling and processing sales accurately. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, adhering to food safety regulations and sanitation protocols. Restock shelves, organize displays, and manage inventory levels to ensure product availability. Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing meats, cheeses, and other deli items using proper food handling techniques. Support the overall store operations by bussing tables, managing basic math calculations for sales and inventory, and upselling products to enhance sales performance. Requirements Previous experience in food service, grocery stores, or quick service & fast food restaurants is highly preferred. Knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety standards, and sanitation practices. Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for efficient transaction processing. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and inventory management. Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work effectively in a retail or kitchen setting.
