The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and customer service, ensuring that our deli section runs smoothly while providing exceptional service to our customers. This role involves food preparation, handling, and maintaining food safety standards, as well as assisting customers with their orders and inquiries. Responsibilities Prepare and serve deli items, including meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches, while adhering to food safety guidelines. Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently to process customer transactions. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Assist customers in selecting products, providing recommendations, and upselling additional items when appropriate. Monitor inventory levels of deli products and assist in restocking as needed. Perform basic math calculations for pricing and inventory management. Collaborate with team members to ensure excellent customer service and a positive shopping experience. Skills Strong knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations. Experience with POS systems; familiarity with Aloha POS is a plus. Basic math skills for retail transactions and inventory management. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service. Previous experience in the food industry or retail environment is preferred but not required. Capable of performing food preparation tasks efficiently and safely.
