All duties are performed with a focus on food safety, sanitation, and efficient service to create a welcoming shopping experience. Responsibilities Prepare and assemble deli products including slicing meats and cheeses, creating salads, and packaging ready-to-eat items with precision. Serve customers promptly and courteously at the deli counter, providing product recommendations and upselling where appropriate to enhance sales. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with food safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices. Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for transactions, cash handling, and order processing efficiently. Restock deli displays regularly to ensure fresh product availability while managing inventory levels accurately through basic math skills. Assist with food preparation tasks in the kitchen or café area as needed, supporting overall store operations. Support other team members by bussing tables or cleaning work areas to uphold a clean, safe environment for staff and customers. Requirements Previous experience in food service, retail grocery stores, or quick service & fast food restaurants is highly desirable. Knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety standards, and sanitation procedures is essential. Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for cashiering tasks is preferred. Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods. Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and ability to communicate clearly. Basic math skills for cash handling, sales transactions, and inventory management. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting boxes or moving supplies as needed.
