Overview Join our dynamic team as a Deli Associate and become a vital part of delivering exceptional food service experiences! In this energetic role, you'll be the friendly face behind the counter, preparing and serving fresh deli items with enthusiasm and precision. Your expertise in food preparation, customer service, and retail transactions will help create a welcoming environment where customers feel valued and satisfied. Whether you're slicing meats, managing POS systems, or assisting customers with their selections, your positive attitude and attention to detail will drive success every day. Responsibilities Prepare and assemble deli products, including slicing meats, cheeses, and other food items while adhering to food safety standards. Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS efficiently for retail sales transactions, cash handling, and processing payments. Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with product selections, answering questions, and upselling items to enhance their experience. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, including proper food handling, sanitation practices, and food safety management. Restock shelves, organize displays, and ensure all food items are properly labeled and rotated for freshness. Support food service operations by bussing tables or counters as needed and ensuring a clean dining environment. Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure quick service while maintaining high-quality standards. Experience Previous experience in food preparation or food service environments such as quick service restaurants, cafes, or grocery stores is highly preferred. Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus. Demonstrated ability in retail sales transactions, cashiering, or cashier responsibilities including cash handling and basic math skills. Knowledge of food safety procedures and sanitation practices within the food industry. Experience working in fast-paced environments requiring strong time management skills. Culinary or kitchen experience that supports efficient food handling and preparation is advantageous.
