We are seeking a dependable, hands-on, second-shift Sanitation Crew Member to join our West Nyack, NY team. Under the direction of the Sanitation Supervisor, this role performs daily and scheduled cleaning and sanitization of production equipment, processing areas, storage areas, and employee facilities. The position follows established food safety, quality, chemical-handling, and workplace-safety procedures to help prevent contamination and keep the facility ready for production.

Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize plastic drapes according to the assigned sanitation schedule.
• Clean and sanitize the canola oil and rice syrup scale area.
• Wipe down and sanitize utensil and Silpat storage racks and shelving units.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain shoe sanitation mats.
• Clean and sanitize refrigerator floors.
• Clean and sanitize production and facility floors.
• Maintain general sanitation and cleanliness in the mop room and boot room.
• Keep the chemical cage clean and organized.
• Change out cleaning chemicals, as assigned and in accordance with, chemical-handling procedures.
• Clean and sanitize Topos bowl wheels.
• Clean out and sanitize the cafeteria sink.
• Clean and sanitize production drains.
• Clean and sanitize utensil bins.
• Perform general washroom cleaning, including walls, floors, and sinks.
• Clean and sanitize robot cage floors, conveyors, and robot equipment in accordance with established procedures.
• Clean laser printers in the packing area using approved methods.
• Clean safety bollards and protective barriers.
• Clean behind the blast freezer.
• Use approved cleaning tools, chemicals, and personal protective equipment safely and effectively.
• Complete assigned sanitation checklists and report equipment damage, chemical issues, or safety concerns to the Sanitation Supervisor.
• Follow all applicable SOPs, GMPs, food safety requirements, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and supervisor instructions.
• Work cooperatively with sanitation, production, and quality personnel to ensure assigned areas are clean, safe, and ready for production.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred. Prior experience in sanitation, janitorial, or maintenance in a food manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus. Familiarity with food safety standards (GMPs, HACCP, FSMA). Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Comfortable working in wet, humid, or cold environments and around cleaning chemicals. Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, standing, and climbing ladders. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.

Pay :

The pay range for this position is $18.00 to $21.00/hour. Abe's Vegan Muffins takes into consideration a wide range of factors in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Pay:

$17.50 - $19.00 per hour
