293443992 Report this job Apply Now Save To My Profile Email Print Job Description Description About the position: Work as a Crew Member•Finishing in our Finishing department. Responsible for the quality of our castings by performing chipping and grinding on all types of castings to remove any irregularities or imperfections to meet customer specifications. Company-paid Life, AD&D, and disability benefits Eligible for Paid Time off after 90 days of employment, based off of hire date Opportunities for growth and advancement What you'll do: Read and understand blueprints and spec sheets Perform chipping and grinding of molds to customer specifications: remove any excess iron, clean grooves inside molds, patch damaged sections, grind out excess, finish grind, chipping work Maintain all tools including chisels, hoses, guns, grinding wheels and return to proper storage. Sand blast molds, clean and perform minor repair. May be cross trained on rotary planer. Keep work area clean and clutter free. Must adhere to all housekeeping and safety standards, including the required use of personal protective equipment. What you'll need: High School Diploma or GED Able to perform work of a semi-repetitive nature using 7 to 8 lb. chipping guns. Able to read drawings Able to withstand prolonged periods of standing and bending and heavy lifting. Must be able to pass physical requirements Must be willing to work flexible hours and mandatory overtime Ability to train and receive certification on Crane Ability to withstand extreme temperatures Ability to lift 30•60 pounds Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a manufacturing or foundry environment Ability to read blueprints, customer specification sheets, and tape measures Certified with operating mobile equipment or overhead crane Skills and Abilities Ability to work safe Good math skills Ability to learn to run crane and mobile equipment if necessary Good attendance history and able to show up to work on time Required to stand throughout an 8-hour shift Working Conditions Worker is subject to an environment not controlled for heat or cold. Worker is often subject to greases, oils, dirt, dust, cold and heat throughout the workday. Worker is subject to work being performed on or above ground floor and also below ground level (ground pit) Workers must be able to wear proper PPE (respirators, hardhat, steel toe metatarsals, and ear plugs) This position requires a HEAVY level of physical demand capability. Workers frequently stand on concrete flooring. Worker is subject to an environment not controlled for heat or cold. Worker is often subject to greases, oils, dirt, dust, cold and heat throughout the workday. Worker is subject to work being performed on or above ground floor and also below ground level (ground pit) Workers must be able to wear proper PPE (respirators, hardhat, steel toe metatarsals, and ear plugs) This position requires a HEAVY level of physical demand capability. Workers frequently stand on concrete flooring.
