Tribal Youth Crew Members and Leaders | Ouachita National Forest Oklahoma Conservation Corps of American YouthWorks Broken Bow, Oklahoma Job Type AmeriCorps Salary $2,400 - $2,720 per month Benefits End-of-Service AmeriCorps Education Award (money for qualified student loans, higher education and training programs) and more! The American YouthWorks - Oklahoma Conservation Corps' (AYW OKCC) Summer Conservation Program is an AmeriCorps opportunity to work on local habitat restoration projects. Spend your summer getting paid to build conservation skills and engage in environmental education. The Tribal Youth Conservation Crews are open to Tribal members looking to spend a summer engaging in conservation projects on tribal and public lands. Members will work on habitat restoration projects and engage in environmental education. Opportunities for travel and camping will be provided. No experience required!

Crew Member:
$2,400 per month ($1200 semi-monthly)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Frequently required to walk and hike over long distances while carrying tools Ability to operate tools Heavy lifting, bending, and carrying up to 35-50• pounds (•depending on crew type) Walking and working on steep or uneven terrain Ability to work long days in adverse weather conditions Depending on crew type, ability to hitch, camp, and travel throughout the duration of an entire AmeriCorps term
REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required Ages 17+ for Crew Members and 21+ for Crew Leaders US Citizenship or lawful permanent US Resident Ability to pass a National Service Criminal History Check
Crew Leaders Only:
Ages 21+ High school diploma or GED Clear 3-year Driving Record Prior experience in conservation, camping, backcountry travel, or related fieldwork Preferred Ability to work outdoors in all weather types while doing demanding labor with hand and power tools Function as part of a team with the ability to get along with members of all backgrounds and experience levels Strong service ethic and commitment to completing an entire term of service with a desire to serve the community and the environment
Crew Leaders Only:
