Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Sonic Carhop, where you'll be the friendly face delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced, energetic environment. As a vital part of our restaurant, you'll provide quick, friendly service to customers both at their cars and inside the café. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create memorable dining experiences, ensuring every guest leaves satisfied and eager to return. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your food service skills while working in a lively, team-oriented atmosphere. All positions are paid, and no experience is necessary—just a positive attitude and a desire to serve! Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and take their food orders with enthusiasm and accuracy using POS systems such as Aloha or Micros. Deliver food orders promptly to customers at their vehicles or inside the café, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation standards are maintained. Prepare simple food items as needed, following food safety guidelines and sanitation procedures. Manage cash handling duties accurately, including processing payments via POS systems and providing correct change. Upsell menu items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities by recommending popular or new products. Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, bus tables, and assist with basic kitchen duties such as food prep when required. Follow all safety protocols related to food industry standards, sanitation, and equipment operation to ensure a safe environment for guests and team members. Skills Experience in food preparation, food service, or quick service restaurants is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key! Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha or Micros; basic math skills for cash handling and retail math are essential. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively with guests. Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while multitasking efficiently. Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques. Previous experience in retail or grocery stores can be beneficial for understanding sales and upselling strategies.
