Food Pantry Stock Associate Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank Allentown, PA Job Details Part-time $16 - $18 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description Stock Associate is responsible for receiving, sorting, stocking, and organizing food and personal care products within the pantry. This position requires tough physical labor to maintain inventory, ensuring shelves are well-stocked, and support efficient pantry operations to provide a positive experience for clients and staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receive, weigh, stock, and organize food donations and deliveries. Sort products by category and inspect items for quality and expiration dates. Stock shelves, refrigerators, and storage areas according to established procedures. Maintain clean and organized pantry floor and stock room. Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors of low-stock items. Clean driving record and ability to drive a van to drop off recycling, pick up donations and orders. Assist volunteers with locating items and unloading groceries when necessary. Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines. Provide excellent customer service to clients, volunteers, and community partners. Complete basic recordkeeping. Occasionally assist with special events, food drives, and community outreach activities. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Driver's license and clean driving record required. Previous experience in stocking, warehouse operations, grocery retail, inventory control, driving or food service preferred. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. Able to push or pull carts and U-boats up to 500 lbs up ramps, over carpets and weave through doorways. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift which includes working in a freezer and refrigerator. Very strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Able to sort and organize miscellaneous donations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Dependable, punctual, and safety conscious. Ability to work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds. General understanding of recycling. Work Schedule Part-time, approximately 20-25 hours per week. Hours are from 8:00AM to 12:30PM. Very occasional weekend or holiday work.
