Responsibilities Prepare and assemble deli items with precision, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met. Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process transactions efficiently and accurately. Provide friendly, attentive customer service by assisting shoppers in selecting products, answering questions, and offering recommendations. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, adhering to food safety regulations and sanitation protocols. Handle cash transactions with accuracy, including cash handling, cashiering duties, and balancing registers at shift end. Restock shelves, organize displays, and ensure product freshness to promote sales and upselling opportunities. Support food handling procedures such as slicing meats, cheeses, or preparing salads while following proper safety standards. Skills Proven experience in food preparation, food service, or retail environments within the food industry or quick service restaurants. Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS for efficient transaction processing. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse shoppers. Excellent time management skills to balance multiple tasks during busy hours. Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures. Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and accurate register operations. Experience in grocery stores or cafes is a plus; culinary experience is highly valued for this role.
