Grading/Utility Team Member

Grading/Utility Team Member Job Summary:

C.R. Jackson is hiring Grading/Utility Team Members to support site development and roadway preparation projects. In this role, you'll help install essential underground utilities — including stormwater, water, and sewer systems — and assist with grading operations. You'll work as part of a skilled crew to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality job performance.

What You'll Do:

Assist with installation of stormwater, water, and sewer utilities Support grading operations using shovels, levels, and GPS equipment Perform pre- and post-shift equipment inspections Keep equipment clean and job sites organized Help with general housekeeping and other labor tasks as needed Follow instructions from foremen and supervisors Maintain a safety-first mindset and deliver high-quality work Comply with all company safety rules and procedures

What We're Looking For:

Must be 18 and have a valid driver's license High school diploma or GED preferred Ability to understand and follow directions Good communication and teamwork skills Good attendance and safety record Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines Ability to travel to job sites within South Carolina as needed Willing to work nights or weekends based on project schedules Must pass pre-employment drug screening and meet background standards

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the shift Lift and carry up to 50 lbs Walk on uneven or rough surfaces Climb on and off heavy equipment safely Work in outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dust, rain, and noise Maintain awareness of surroundings and nearby equipment
