Carroll Custom Coatings is hiring an experienced Lead Painter / Working Crew Leader to oversee residential painting projects and help keep our production team operating efficiently. We are looking for a dependable leader who takes pride in producing high-quality work, knows how to manage a crew, and is willing to lead from the front by actively painting alongside the team. This is not a supervision-only position. The Lead Painter / Working Crew Leader will perform hands-on painting work throughout each project while also directing daily jobsite operations, assigning tasks based on each team member's abilities, monitoring workmanship, tracking progress, and keeping projects on schedule.

Key responsibilities include:

Organizing the jobsite and preparing the crew for each workday Reviewing project scopes, expectations, and production goals Assigning daily tasks and clearly communicating priorities Performing professional painting, preparation, and finishing work Monitoring quality throughout every stage of the project Keeping the crew productive, organized, and accountable Tracking labor hours, materials, progress, and project needs Identifying potential delays or problems and communicating them promptly Ensuring jobsite cleanliness, organization, and proper protection of customers' homes Confirming work is completed according to company standards before final walkthroughs Maintaining a professional and respectful experience for customers Following company procedures and all applicable safety requirements Properly caring for company tools, equipment, and vehicles Qualified applicants should have professional residential painting experience and a strong understanding of surface preparation, masking, brushing, rolling, spraying, touch-ups, and jobsite protection. You should be able to recognize quality issues, correct problems before they affect the finished project, and train or guide less-experienced painters when needed.

Experienced in professional residential painting Comfortable leading and working alongside a crew Dependable, punctual, and organized Detail-oriented with high-quality standards Able to maintain production without sacrificing workmanship Confident assigning tasks and holding team members accountable Able to communicate clearly with management, crew members, and customers Capable of reading and following written project scopes Skilled at identifying material, labor, and scheduling needs Able to remain professional and solution-focused under pressure Physically able to perform painting work, use ladders, lift equipment and materials, and remain active throughout the workday A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. Applicants must also be comfortable traveling to residential jobsites throughout the Myrtle Beach area.
