Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Deli Prep Associate to join our team in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and safety. In this role, you will be responsible for slicing meats, cheeses, and vegetables, preparing ingredients for sandwiches, and keeping the deli area clean and organized. You'll also support customer service and daily operations with a focus on freshness and efficiency. Duties Slice a variety of meats, cheeses, and vegetables to prepare fresh ingredients for sandwiches. Prep, portion, and store food items for the next day's service. Maintain a clean and sanitary deli area, including sweeping, mopping, taking out garbage, wiping down surfaces, and cleaning dishes. Operate slicing and food prep equipment safely and efficiently. Assist with packaging, labeling, and displaying products for sale. Work effectively during peak hours and manage prep tasks according to priority. Collaborate with deli staff to ensure smooth workflow. Follow all food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures. Skills Experience in food preparation, preferably in a deli, sandwich shop, or quick-service restaurant. Strong skills in slicing meats, cheeses, and vegetables with proper technique. Familiarity with prepping ingredients for sandwiches and similar food items. Excellent time management and multitasking abilities in a busy environment. Friendly and professional customer service skills. Ability to upsell and recommend products to enhance customer satisfaction. Basic math skills for portioning. Solid knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and cleaning standards.
