Job Description

Position Summary As a Finishing Department Level II Team Member, you will operate and support finishing equipment to produce high-quality components that meet or exceed customer specifications. This includes setup, operation, inspection, and troubleshooting of Blanchard grinding equipment and posses the skills to be cross trained as required and/or needed. Primary Duties Will Include Follow all safety policies and procedures to produce quality parts Operate finishing equipment including Blanchard grinders and other departmental equipment as needed. Set up machines, secure parts, and adjust settings to meet required tolerances Monitor grinding operations and make necessary adjustments to ensure part quality Perform in-process and final inspections using: Height gauges Micrometers Calipers Pin, thread, and feeler gauges Read and interpret work instructions, job travelers, and technical drawings Report quality issues and support troubleshooting efforts with team members and team leads Complete inspection documentation and production paperwork accurately Perform basic preventative maintenance and maintain a clean work area Utilize forklifts and other material handling equipment to move parts safely Expectations & Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below represent the knowledge, skill, and ability required: Mechanical aptitude and machine operation experience Experience with grinding equipment (Blanchard preferred) Ability to read and interpret prints and specifications Strong attention to detail and quality High level of initiative and willingness to learn new skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to push/pull heavy loads using carts, hoists, or lift assist equipment Forklift experience preferred but not required We Offer Valmet employees enjoy a competitive wage and a benefits package that includes a company funded pension plan.
