Job Description

Chief Steward Lead the Team Behind a Clean, Safe, and Successful Kitchen Are you a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced food and beverage environment? We're looking for a Chief Steward to oversee our stewarding team, maintain exceptional sanitation standards, and ensure our kitchens operate efficiently every day. If you're passionate about leadership, organization, and creating a clean, safe environment for both guests and team members, we'd love to meet you. What You'll Do As Chief Steward, you'll play a key role in supporting our culinary and food & beverage operations by leading the stewarding team and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
Responsibilities include:
Lead, coach, schedule, and support a team of stewards and dishwashers. Train team members on safety, sanitation, and operational procedures. Maintain exceptional kitchen cleanliness and ensure compliance with all health and sanitation regulations. Partner with the Executive Chef on hiring, training, and team development. Monitor staffing levels and adjust schedules based on business needs. Oversee post-service cleanup and closing procedures. Coordinate deep cleaning projects and preventative sanitation programs. Assist with inventory, ordering, and distribution of stewarding equipment and supplies. Serve as the liaison with Facilities to monitor fats, oils, and grease (FOG) management. Collaborate with chefs, managers, servers, and other departments to deliver an outstanding guest experience. Foster a positive, team-focused culture while providing exceptional service to both internal and external guests. Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Previous stewarding experience required. Prior supervisory or leadership experience required. High school diploma or GED preferred. Working knowledge of state and local health department regulations. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems in a fast-paced environment. Dependable with a strong work ethic and consistent attendance. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
