Distillery Operations Manager State 38 Distilling Golden, CO Job Details Full-time From $23 an hour 7 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Computer operation Computer skills Full Job Description Overview Join our dynamic spirit manufacturing team as a Distillery Operations Manager, where you will lead the production and operational excellence of our distillery. This pivotal and newly created role combines hands-on management with strategic oversight, ensuring that all processes—from raw material handling to packaging—adhere to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. You will inspire and guide a dedicated team, optimize equipment performance, and uphold rigorous food safety protocols to produce 12 exceptional craft spirits and run all aspects of the tasing room. Your leadership will directly impact our commitment to delivering premium products while maintaining a safe and compliant workplace. In this changing industry, seeking someone with an entrepreneurial spirit and sales experience as well along with production experience. Duties Oversee daily operations of the distillery, including fermentation, distillation, filtration, and packaging processes. Lead and motivate our sales team and our distributor relationship, fostering a culture of teamwork, and continuous improvement . Ensure all equipment is operating efficiently through proactive troubleshooting, maintenance coordination, and mechanical problem-solving. Maintain strict adherence to sanitation standards and safety protocols in all production activities. Manage material handling operations using forklifts and other equipment to ensure safe storage and movement of raw ingredients and finished products. Conduct quality assurance checks throughout production to meet safety standards and beverage industry regulations. Maintain safety training programs focused on heavy lifting, chemical handling, machine operation, and emergency procedures. Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, chemicals, and packaging supplies; work with vendors for timely replenishment. Document production metrics, safety incidents, equipment maintenance logs, and compliance reports accurately for audits and continuous improvement initiatives. Manage brand ambassadors and coordinate all event staffing and event requirements. Works at off-site events as needed. Increase sales in the tasting room and at events, developing new and creative ideas to draw customers into the distillery. Work with the Director of Marketing to increase event ideas, social media postings and advertising for the distillery. Bartends at the distillery tasting room several days throughout the week. Works with the owner(s) to determine special spirit releases throughout the year. Ensures a clean distillery at all times. Creates a memorable customer experience for all distillery customers. Experience Proven experience in beverage manufacturing or food & beverage production environments with a focus on distillation or brewing processes. Strong knowledge of sanitation procedures. Hands-on experience operating manufacturing equipment such as fermenters, stills, pumps, conveyors, packaging machinery, and material handling tools like forklifts. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently to minimize downtime. Demonstrated leadership skills in managing teams within a manufacturing setting; capable of training staff on best practices. Familiarity with industrial chemical handling and safety standards related to beverage production facilities. Basic math skills for inventory management, process calculations, and quality control documentation. Computer knowledge for all product tracking is essential. Knowledge of state liquor regulations and licensing for events and liquor sales. TIPS certified or willing to become certified. Warehouse experience including inventory management and logistics coordination is highly desirable. Hours are generally Tuesday-Friday 9 am - 6:30 pm. Some weekend hours as needed. Pay is between $23-25/hour plus tips and bottle commissions earned when working the tasting room or at events. Hourly pay is based on experience. We also offer PTO.
