Do you love craft beer and are a natural storyteller? Then we have the perfect opportunity for you! At Elephant & Co., we are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Beer Guide to join our team. As a Beer Guide, you curate the best possible experience for our guests. You lead them through our taproom with an educational charisma so all patrons have an enjoyable experience navigating our self-serve taproom. This role is expected to engage with customers throughout their time in the taproom recommending the perfect beers to taste and the best Detroit-style pizza to eat! Your expertise and storytelling skills will enhance the guest's beer-drinking adventures. But it's not just about the beer - it's about the connections you'll make within the community. You'll be a part of a close-knit team that values intentionality, scrappiness, and spreading kindness. To succeed in this role, you should have a strong desire to learn and communicate about different beer styles, brewing techniques, and flavor profiles. However, what truly sets you apart is your ability to engage and inspire others through your storytelling, attention to customer service, and interest in educating others. Essential Functions Greet and engage with guests, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Guide guests in using our self-service technology for a seamless experience. Offer knowledgeable advice on beer selections Assist guests in choosing the perfect beer based on their preferences and flavor profiles. Educate customers on the brewing process, beer styles, and food pairings. Effectively sell our diverse range of craft beers and merchandise. Keep up-to-date on current and upcoming beer offerings and specialty Detroit-style pizzas. Drive sales through suggestive selling and upselling techniques. Assist and troubleshoot technological issues with self-service equipment and point-of-sale system Perform opening and closing duties, ensuring the taproom is ready for business such as mopping floors, bussing tables, and tidying bathrooms. Monitor and replenish inventory as needed. Requirements Must be at least 21 years of age Must be available nights and weekends Passion for craft beer and a desire to share that enthusiasm with others. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to convey beer knowledge effectively. Basic understanding of troubleshooting technology Previous experience in a customer-facing role, is preferred
